Sims 3 Floor Tile

In the end i just build a diagonal wall and put the floor down to make it triangle. Or if you have one or more floor tiles too much it goes. I want to paint a half tile. Today after i placed a ladder then deleted it a hole in my floor appeared and i cannot place a floor tile over it.
